Unique pregnancy announcements as Britney Spears confuses fans with news
Britney Spears announced her pregnancy with an Instagram post – although, it wasn’t entirely clear.
The singer posted a photo of a cup and saucer surrounded by roses with a lengthy caption that almost glossed over the big announcement. Talk about burying the news, Britney!
She wrote, “I lost so much weight to go on my Maui trip only to gain it back … I thought “Geez … what happened to my stomach ???” My husband said “No you’re food pregnant silly!!!” So I got a pregnancy test … and uhhhhh well … I am having a baby … 4 days later I got a little more food pregnant It’s growing !!! If 2 are in there … I might just lose it.”
In the 194 word caption she also spoke about her relationship with the paparazzi, yoga and perinatal depression.
Her partner Sam Asghari has since confirmed the news with a sketch of wild animals.
Britney, 40, isn’t the only celebrity to inform fans of the pregnancy in a bit of an unusual way…
Cheryl
After months of speculation Cheryl decided to confirm her pregnancy in quite a low-key/high-key way. She simply appeared in a L’Oreal and The Princes Trust photo shoot, among a sea of other famous faces, wearing a black jumper dress and holding her bump.

She never said a word about being pregnant before or after. That bump became little baby Bear, who she co-parents with One Direction star Liam Payne.
Kylie Jenner
Kylie only decided to make the announcement that she’d even been pregnant only once the baby was already here. Her family have made careers sharing their lives so it was a bold and brave decision.

She uploaded a video to YouTube called, “To our daughter” which now has 105 million views. The 11 minutes and 33 seconds gave an insight into the nine months. It begins with former BFF Jordyn Woods (who was later cut out of Kylie’s life after kissing sister Khloe’s boyfriend Tristan Thompson) telling the story of Travis and Kylie getting pregnant, and concludes with the birth of Stormi.
Blac Chyna
In 2016, emojis were at the peak popularity and Blac Chyna capitalised on this trend.
She told fans she was pregnant by sharing an emoji of herself pregnant on Instagram (which has since been deleted). Just to really push the point she also used a pregnant emoji in the caption too. Boyfriend at the time, and baby daddy Rob Kardashian posted the same on his social media. The baby turned out to be adorable Dream.
Malika Haqq
Malika knows how to multitask – she shared the news that she was pregnant with future son Ace and created an ad for pregnancy test company ClearBlue at the same time. She may have been announcing some very personal news, but she still had bills to pay!
She wrote, “I am yours, baby, and you are mine. Thank you, @Clearblue for being a CLEAR and intricate part of the most important test result of my life” – alongside a picture of her holding the positive test.
She continued with the #ads – when she shared the gender, she also promoted BioOil. She wrote, “It’s A Boy!!! I’m thankful to my baby boy and @BioOilUSA for my pregnancy glow. #BioOilPartner.”
Beyoncé
Beyoncé doesn’t follow trends, she makes them. The iconic singer announced the pregnancy of her twins – Sir and Rumi – with a photo shoot shared on Instagram.
She was draped in netting and surrounded by flowers. It became the most liked Instagram post ever at the time, so was definitely worth the effort.
Amy Schumer
The comedian kept her famous humour in the announcement.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were also expecting their first child, so instead of Amy and Chris Fischer shooting their own pictures they simply photoshopped their faces onto the royal couple. We’re sure Gene David has inherited his mum’s sense of humour.
