Who is Keith Urban? His 16-year Hollywood marriage and battle with alcohol and drugs
Australian-American musician Keith Urban has shared how his Hollywood wife saved his life from alcoholism and narcotics.
The country star gave The Sunday Times an exclusive interview detailing his path to recovery which included multiple stints in rehab. Urban shared how his wife, Nicole Kidman, encouraged him in his battle against alcohol and cocaine.
Urban first went to rehab in 1998 and then 2006 after Kidman insisted. The musician has since released a ballad titled Thank You to give credit to Kidman for getting him back on track after they got married.

The country singer also grew up with an alcoholic father. This is one of the first times that Urban has spoken out about his sobriety.
He said : “My dad was an alcoholic, so I grew up in an alcoholic house and it took me a long time to believe I was wired the same.”
Who is Keith Urban?
Keith Lionel Urban is an Australian-American country musician, singer, guitarist and songwriter. The 54-year-old was born in New Zealand in October 1967.
He started the music group The Ranch from 1997 to 1998, obtaining two singles on the U.S. Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. Urban has gone on to win four Grammy Awards and holds 15 Academy of Country Music Awards.
He also has 13 Country Music Association Awards, six ARIA Music Awards and a Jim Reeves International Award under his belt. Urban has released 11 studio albums in total.
Who is Keith Urban married to?
Urban is married to Australian-American and Hollywood actress Nicole Kidman. The pair got married in 2006 and have two children together, Sunday Rose, 13, and Faith Margaret, 11.
Nicole Mary Kidman, also 54, was born in June 1967 in Honolulu, Hawaii. She has had an active acting career since 1983 and also works as a producer.
Kidman first had a high profile marriage to movie star Tom Cruise from 1990 to 2001. She has starred in popular films including The Hours (2002) with Meryl Streep, Eyes Wide Shut (1999), Moulin Rouge! (2001) and Lion (2016).
She has also starred in TV shows such as Big Little Lies (2017 to 2019) with Reese Witherspoon, The Undoing (2020) with Hugh Grant, and Nine Perfect Strangers (2021) amongst many others.
