amit sarin: The pandemic changed the entire business of entertainment and this has become a blessing for actors like us: Amit Sarin
Amit says, “Indian actors are finding opportunities across the world, and makers in Hollywood, too, are now more open to working with Indian actors. Earlier, it was very difficult to find ways to land opportunities in Hollywood. I had to uproot myself and relocate to Los Angeles, a few years back.”
He adds, “After two years of hard work, things started moving in the right direction but the pandemic brought everything to a stand still. The pandemic changed the business model of entertainment and we had to find newer ways to land good work in the US.”
Amit shares how he and his wife shot a film sitting at home in the pandemic. He says, “The film was about how a man loses his wife and then he goes on a trip and how the nature helps him cope with his grief. I acted in the film and it was shot in a few parks of LA because they were open during the pandemic. The film titled Between Mountains helped me land a good project as an actor.”
Amit also says the good part about this phase is that it has opened up a lot of opportunities for actors. He says, “With the digital revolution, I feel I’m a global citizen and language or location are no longer barriers anymore. You can connect with anyone in the world and yet do good work.”
