A number of famous females have proposed to their partners, with Britney Spears popping the question to Kevin Federline while on a flight to New York, while Jodie Turner-Smith romantically proposed to Joshua Jackson while on holiday.
Others, such as Jennifer Hudson, simply repaid the favour after their partner got down on one knee first, and Judge Judy proposed to her husband after wondering where their relationship was heading.

Britney Spears
Back in July 2004, Britney Spears announced her engagement to dancer Kevin Federline, after just three months of dating.
The pop star, 40, got down on one knee and proposed to her beau, 44, while on a flight from Ireland to New York.
Recalling the moment to People, she said: “All of a sudden I said, ‘What if you want to get married?’ And I kind of went from there to asking him if he would marry me. I asked him.”
Kevin, who went on to welcome two sons with Britney, initially said no to the proposal out of shock, but a couple of minutes later he then returned the favour and proposed to the singer himself.
The couple tied the knot later that same year, but got divorced in 2007.
Pink
Pink met former professional motocross competitor Carey Hart back in 2001, and the pair quickly fell for one another.
Despite briefly splitting in 2003, the 42 year old singer reunited with her beau, 46, and in 2005 she romantically popped the question while they were at a Mammoth Lakes motocross race.
She pretended to be assisting during the race, and held up a pit board saying: “Will You Marry Me? I’m serious!”
Carey reportedly didn’t notice the proposal at first and did another lap of the course before spotting the sign, and he quickly stopped in order to accept.
In 2006, the couple tied the knot in Costa Rica and they went on to welcome two children together.
Jennifer Hudson
David Otunga proposed to Jennifer Hudson on her 27th birthday in 2008, and while the singer was quick to accept, she also had plans to pop the question too.
Jennifer, 40, got down on one knee on her beau’s 29th birthday just five months later, presenting him with an incredible five-carat ring designed by celebrity ring designer Neil Lane.
Neil told People: “Jennifer wanted to give him something really special when she asked David to marry her. It was very sentimental and romantic … They are really in love.”
Jennifer and David were together for 10 years before announcing their split in 2017. The former couple are parents to 12 year old son David Daniel Otunga, Jr.
Billie Piper
Back in 2001, actress Billie Piper proposed to her partner, radio DJ Chris Evans, on 35th birthday.
Billie, 39, who was just 18 years old at the time, went on to marry her beau, 56, in an intimate ceremony in Las Vegas, after just six months of dating.
The couple eventually separated in 2004 before divorcing in 2007, but have remained on good terms ever since.
Jodie Turner-Smith
Joshua Jackson revealed that his wife Jodie Turner-Smith proposed to him during an interview last year, with the actor recalling the romantic moment on The Tonight Show.
Joshua, 43, told how Jodie, 35, popped the question while they were holidaying in Nicaragua on New Year’s Eve.
He said: “She asked me, yeah, on New Year’s Eve. We were in Nicaragua. It was very beautiful, incredibly romantic. We were walking down the beach, and she asked me to marry her. There was, like, a preamble. There was a lead-up to it … I did not know, but she was quite adamant, and she was right.”
Jodie and Joshua tied the knot in 2019 before going on to welcome their first child, a baby girl, in April 2020.
Judy Sheindlin
Judy Sheindlin, better known as Judge Judy, first married her husband Jerry, 88, back in 1977.
The TV star, 79, proposed to her partner after wondering where their relationship was heading.
Speaking to DuJour magazine in 2013, she said: “I did propose to him. I said to him, ‘Where is this relationship going?’ And he tried to weasel out of it, with his, ‘Well, you know, why do we have to get married?’ Whatever. He finally capitulated.”
Judy then told Jerry to select a date for their nuptials, and they ended up tying the knot on the commemorative occasion of America’s Flag Day on 14 June.
However, the couple split and got divorced 1990, before going on to rekindle their romance and exchanging vows for a second time in 1991.
