Louise Thompson’s fiancé Ryan Libbey slams Boots after ‘less than helpful’ service
Ryan Libbey has hit out at Boots after a shop assistant gave him “less than helpful” advice and didn’t believe his baby boy Leo is teething.
The 31 year old, whose fiancé Louise Thompson recently documented her return to the gym, took to his Instagram stories to post several clips of himself explaining exactly what happened when he entered the shop for help.
Dressed in a grey T-shirt, black winter coat and matching black New York-themed baseball cap, the dad-of-one cradled his son as he shared: “So I just went to Boots because I thought that was the place to go for medical supplies, for all kinds of things.

“I went there for two things, one was a cradle cap shampoo because he’s flared up a little bit on the scalp, they didn’t have that. They weren’t willing to even check out back to see if they had any stock. That was the first thing that ticked me off.”
According to the NHS, cradle cap is a common and harmless skin condition in babies that usually clears up on its own, but can be helped with unperfumed shampoo.
Ryan went on to share the second incident that took place that left him upset as he explained he went back to the counter to ask for Anbesol Liquid, but was told he couldn’t have any as his son is “too young to be teething”.
Anbesol Liquid is a targeted oral pain relief and antiseptic that, according to Boots, is suitable for babies over five months old.
“I said, ‘He’s teething, he’s in a lot of pain, he’s at times unconsolable and I’ve been advised to have the Anbesol Liquid’. They asked me how old he was, I said he was four months,” he shared. “She looked at me as though I was from a different planet and said, ‘He can’t be teething, he’s far too young,’ and I said, ‘Surely it depends on the baby. I’ve been advised by professionals that teething can start from as early as two and a half, three months, and again it depends on the baby.’
“She said, ‘No, absolutely not. He’s too young, he can’t be teething,’ and I was like, ‘What do you suggest I do then?’ She said, ‘Wet your finger and rub his gums’.

“I actually didn’t say anything too rude, I had to bite my tongue, but I did want to reach across the counter and say, ‘Listen… I can’t even say it… but f**k you Boots.'”
Ryan, whose other half’s PTSD and is “starting to lift” following the traumatic birth of their son, went on to vow he won’t go back to the pharmacy chain as their advice was “less than helpful”.
“If any parents out there have been in a similar situation, I feel your pain because that’s… When little man is very distressed and upset and in pain and you go find the solution people keep putting you towards and they won’t give it to you and they try to tell you that it’s not teething… That’s not the way to go about it,” he continued.
Ryan added: “These guys… F**k it… Anyway, good luck to parents out there who have similar struggles.”
