The two-time Olympic gold medalist has led an amazing career. In the 2008 Beijing Olympics, while everyone believed she should not be allowed to compete because of her inexperience, Shelly shut down every criticism by becoming the first Caribbean woman to win a 100m gold at the Olympics. In fact, her winning record of 10.78 seconds was at the time the second fastest 100m record in the history of the Olympics.

Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce and her crush

Apart from being an excellent sprinter, Shelly-Ann is also a bathroom singer, just like most people around the world. In Nike’s One Minute Talent Show, she recalls her day back in Kingston where her showers were so long that her grandmother use to ask her to come out.

When asked about where did she learned to sing, she said, “I think like everybody else in the bathroom. You are in the shower you are always belting out your favorite lyrics. I felt like I was just in my own little stadium performing.”

In the show, Shelly also revealed her favorite singer. She said, “Oh Tyrese!, like in high school, I had a big crush on Tyrese.”

An Olympic superstar or a supermom

Shelly-Ann’s incredible career is just one part of her life. In 2017, when she became a mother, everyone thought she could no longer compete. However, the three-times Olympian proved every doubter wrong like always. The champion was once again at the podium of the 100-meter finals at the Tokyo Olympics 2021 as the Jamaican women clean swiped once again.
