Ryan Tubridy takes break from RTÉ show as Oliver Callan steps in this week
Ryan Tubridy is taking a well deserved break from radio after The Late Late Show finished up for the summer.
The broadcaster and his team celebrated 60 years of the long running chat show on Friday night’s final programme of the season.
The father of two is also taking some time away from his Radio 1 show for the next few days.

Tubs was missing from the airwaves this morning as a replacement stood in for him.
Oliver Callan, who regularly fills in for Ryan during his time off, has stepped in for this week and he addressed the listeners at the top of the show.
Speaking from the hot seat, he revealed that Ryan would be off air all week while he enjoys a summer holiday.
The comedian said: “Good morning everyone, it is Oliver Callan here in for Ryan all this week as he takes a break.
“So I am here to keep you company until 10 o’clock this morning.”
Ryan is looking forward to having a staycation in Ireland as well as heading abroad this summer. Both the west of Ireland and Iceland are on his hit list.
“I’m looking forward to taking a breather. I think it’s really good to get away from people in terms of listeners and viewers, just to give them a break from you because it’s healthy,” he revealed.
“So, I will drift off and I will go to the West of Ireland, and I might travel further afield as well because I’ve always wanted to visit Iceland. In the last couple of years, I’ve read everything to do with Icelandic, you know, noir thrillers, and I’ve become a little obsessed.”
He added: “So, I want to go over. I won’t sample their cuisine, which is fermented shark and pickled herrings and stuff like that. But I will chance a beer or two.
“I’m going to go to Iceland for sure and maybe one or two other places. Look it’s post-pandemic, I’m ready to rock and roll.”
The Ryan Tubridy Show airs from Monday to Friday on RTÉ Radio 1.
