From celebrity sightings to cameras rolling in Connecticut, July had a fair amount of celebrity gossip last month. Here are some of the highlights.

Steve Carell stops for pizza
Middletown
Star of beloved TV series “The Office” Steve Carell stopped by Middletown’s Mondo Restaurant to try a slice of the Main Street eatery’s pizza. According to a post on the restaurant’s Facebook account, the actor dined at Mondo on July 14. Mondo owner Keith Vibert said in an email that Carell stopped in with his wife and son, ordering “cheese slices individually, but the amount they ordered added up to one large cheese pizza.”
Alicia Keys spotted in Westchester County
Port Chester
Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter and pianist Alicia Keys was seen dining recently at Saltaire in Port Chester, N.Y.
Lifetime movie filming in Connecticut
Mystic & New London
Lifetime is making a movie in Connecticut. “The Christmas Fix” starring actress and TV host Maria Menounos has begun filming at the Mystic Seaport Village Green and at the Muddy Waters Café on Bank Street in New London.
Also filming recently in the state was the Hallmark Channel flick “Sand Dollar Cove” starring Chad Michael Murray, with scenes shot in Mystic; the Netflix Christmas movie “The Noel Diary” starring Justin Hartley and James Remar, which filmed in New Canaan and Stamford; and the Netflix thriller “The Good Nurse,” which was filming in Stamford with Eddie Redmayne and Jessica Chastain.
A ‘Bachelor’ spotted
Stamford
Matt James from “The Bachelor” and Gov. Ned Lamont were seen at a Connecticut Innovations networking event at the newly opened Wheel restaurant at The Village in the South End of Stamford. The Wheel has a celebrity chef program and pop-up experiences in partnership with Jimmy Kimmel.
Michael Bolton spotted
Greenwich
Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter Michael Bolton was seen having dinner at Tony’s at the JHouse in Riverside. The Westport resident is hosting “The Celebrity Dating Game” with actress Zooey Deschanel, which airs on ABC at 10 p.m. Mondays. Also seen at the popular restaurant last week was WWE wrestler Brock “The Beast” Lesnar.
Justin Hartley continues filming for Netflix
Norwalk
Actor Justin Hartley was seen filming in the rain outside the Family Diner on Main Avenue in Norwalk. Sky Mercedes of Forever Sweet Bakery in Norwalk was also there, offering cupcakes and cookies to the cast and crew. The “This is Us” star is in the area to film “The Noel Diary” for Netflix.
Christian Siriano shows new art, dines around town
Westport
Fashion designer Christian Siriano was seen having dinner at Viva Zapata Mexican Restaurant in Westport on July 24. On July 25, Siriano’s original artwork was om display at Swoon Westport.
Tik Tok stars stop for ice cream
Norwalk
Viral Connecticut Tik Tok stars and Norwalk natives Charli and Dixie D’Amelio made a stop at Mr. Frosty’s Ice Cream in Norwalk. Mr. Frosty’s shared a photo of the sisters’ visit on Instagram, calling it a “surprise visit” from their “friends,” tagging the famous Norwalk sisters and the D’Amelio family’s official Instagram account, as well as fellow Tik Tokers Noah Beck and Cole Hudson, also known as Lil Huddy (and Charli D’Amelio’s boyfriend).
Broadway star among newest students of Yale University

Yale University is adding a Broadway star to its student roster this fall.Brandon “Taz” Niederauer, star of the ” School of Rock the Musical” and bona fide guitarist, has enrolled at Yale University. Niederauer is known for originating the role Zack Mooneyham in the Andrew Lloyd Webber-penned Broadway production based on the 2003 movie featuring Jack Black.

Actor and Fairfield resident Christopher Atkins (“The Blue Lagoon”) was seen getting ice cream at the Dairy Queen on the Post Road in Fairfield.
Harvey Fierstein talks to campers
Ridgefield
Actor and playwright Harvey Fierstein, who lives in Ridgefield, made a guest pop-up visit to the Ridgefield Theater Barn to talk to the children at the RTB Kids Camp in July.
‘Pawn Stars’ personality seen around town

TV personality Rick Harrison from the History Channel’s “Pawn Stars” was seen chatting with owner Dom Delfino at Joey B’s Restaurant on River Road in Cos Cob. The owner of the Gold & Silver Pawn Shop featured on the popular series was also seen at Tony’s at the JHouse in Riverside and at The Village in the South End of Stamford.
