Number 1 on the Billboard charts

“As It Was” by Harry Styles is at the top spot for the fifth straight week in a row, with “First Class” by Jack Harlow in second place on the charts. I’m not going to say I dislike either artist. But I dislike both these artists.

Number 1 on iTunes charts

“Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God)” by Kate Bush is at the top of the iTunes charts, proving that kids these days actually do have a modicum of musical taste! Sweet! “Hold My Hand” by Lady Gaga is right behind Kate Bush this week.

Number 1 fiction book (print and e-book) on the New York Times bestseller list

“Sparring Partners” by John Grisham is at the top of the list this week, and who doesn’t love this author? I just bought this book, and it will probably sit on my shelf for the next four years until I finish the other 215 books I need to read. “It Ends With Us” is in second place on the list this week.

Number 1 non-fiction book (print and e-book) on the New York Times bestseller list

Debuting this week at the top of the non-fiction list is “Happy Go Lucky” by humorist David Sedaris. It’s about a 70-year-old guy in the midst of upheaval in a pandemic. Great idea – because I’m sure we all aren’t sick of pandemic stories after two years of freakin’ COVID-19. In second place this week on this list is “Killing The Killers” by Bill O’Reilly.

Most viewed movie on Netflix

“Interceptor” is the top movie on Netflix this week, as the streaming giant reports this flick was watched for 8.67 million hours this week alone. In second is “A Perfect Pairing.” Wait – was it just one person watching “Interceptor” for 8.67 million hours?

Most binged series on streaming platforms

Some of the top shows this week include “Pistol” on Hulu; “Floor Is Lava” on Netflix; “That Damn Michael Che” on HBO Max; “The Boys” on Amazon Prime; and “Physical” on Apple TV. I started watching “Pistol” because it’s a multi-part series about punk rock legends, The Sex Pistols. It’s already making me want to smash guitars and break bottles over my skull.

Most popular at the box office

IMDb reports that the top-three movies at the box office this week are “Top Gun: Maverick” in first; “Dr. Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” in second; and “The Bob’s Burgers Movie” in third. I haven’t gone to the movies in two years. And I’m not about to start paying $50 for a box of Raisinets ever again.

Most searched stories in nation

According to Google Trends, the most searched news stories of the week include: PGA Tour suspends all players taking part in first LIV Golf tournament; ‘Jurassic World: Dominion’ is ‘the worst’ in the franchise, critics say; and Actress Rebel Wilson reveals relationship with Woman On Social Media. So basically, this week we are all obsessed with golf, dinosaurs and invading people’s privacy. Nice.

Trending in my world

Frankly, I’m really not happy with the price of eggs. Or gas. Or the new Lego sets geared toward adults. Or massive bags of beef jerky.
