Though she scooped it up not even two years ago, television veteran and award-winning Food Network staple Valerie Bertinelli is already looking to stir up some interest in one of her several L.A.-area homes.

Perched high in the Hollywood Hills along famed Mulholland Drive, the comprehensively updated single-level ranch house, with three bedrooms and three bathrooms in a pinch more than 2,500 square feet, is newly up for grabs at $2.549 million, a profitable amount above the $1.92 million she paid.

Chiefly remembered for her breakout role on the 1970s and ’80s sitcom “One Day at a Time,” which earned her a couple of Golden Globes, Bertinelli has since appeared in dozens of television shows and TV movies, including “Touched by an Angel” and, most recently, the early 2010s sitcom “Hot in Cleveland.” Passionate about food, since 2015 she’s hosted a couple of Food Network cooking shows and recently closed a new deal to continue creating content for the Discovery-owned network.

The decision to sell up in the Hollywood Hills may or may not have something to do with her recently filing for divorce from her second husband, financial planner Tom Vitale. Bertinelli’s first husband was late and legendary rocker and virtuoso guitarist Eddie Van Halen, with whom she shares an adult son, musician Wolfgang Van Halen.

Built in 1962 on just over a quarter acre, the low-slung home sits on an elevated and mostly flat parcel with views that extend across the great sprawl of the San Fernando Valley. Listings held by Renee Ogiens and Emily Trebek of Compass make no secret the open-concept kitchen has been featured in Bertinelli’s Food Network show, “Valerie’s Home Cooking,” for which she’s received two Daytime Emmys, both in 2019, along with four additional nominations.

Bedrooms are average in size and guest bathrooms are contemporary in style, while the primary suite that boasts a custom-fitted walk-in closet and an ebony tiled bathroom, where walls of retractable windows open the room the backyard.

Walled for security and surrounded by towering trees and foliage that provide skinny-dip-style privacy, the backyard was designed for relaxed entertaining. The one-acre spread, is, of course, worth many times the not quite one million bucks they paid. Records also show she’s also long owned an unassuming contemporary home in the hills above Studio City that she acquired in 2002, not too long after she and Van Halen split up.
