Star Wars actor John Boyega has revealed that he currently isn’t interested in doing a Marvel Cinematic Universe project.

Back in 2015, Star Wars: The Force Awakens hit theaters and became a huge success. The movie is currently the highest-grossing film in the United States having earned over $936M worldwide. The film also turned its four leads, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, and Adam Driver, into major movie stars.

In the films, John Boyega played Finn, a First Order stormtrooper who joined The Resistance. Ultimately his character’s part was reduced in favor of Oscar Isaac’s Poe Damion, Daisy Ridley’s Rey, and Adam Driver’s Kylo Ren, but still maintains an adamant following. Since the release of Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker, the actor hasn’t been in any major franchise projects which include the Marvel Cinematic Universe. According to Boyega, however, this is intentional.

Why John Boyega Isn’t Interested In A Marvel Project

While speaking to Men’s Health, John Boyega opened up about his current career path. While he wouldn’t rule out the possibility in the future, Boyega currently isn’t interested in doing a Marvel Cinematic Universe project:

“That’s not in the vision for me now, I want to do nuanced things…I want to donate my services to original indie films that come with new, fresh ideas, because I know it’s real hard to top ‘Iron Man’ in that universe.”

Here is the official synopsis for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker:
