Live at Gentleman Jack red carpet from Halifax Piece Hall as Hollywood stars attend premiere
Fans of the BBC smash hit Gentleman Jack are in for a treat tonight, as the premiere for the second season gets underway at Halifax’s Piece Hall.
Stars of the show, which charts the life of pioneering landowner and diarist Anne Lister will be dusting off their finest frocks as they descend upon the historic West Yorkshire town of Halifax, to give some lucky viewers a sneak peak of the first episode ahead of the official release on April 10.
Alongside the first glimpse of the second series, a Q&A session is also scheduled to take place, featuring Sally Wainwright, Suranne Jones and other members of the ensemble cast.

According to the official synopsis for series 2, the BBC says: “Yorkshire, 1834. All eyes are on Anne Lister and Ann Walker as they set up home together at Shibden Hall as wife and wife, determined to combine their estates and become a power couple.
“Anne Lister’s entrepreneurial spirit frightens the locals as much as her unconventional love life and, with Halifax on the brink of revolution, her refusal to keep a low profile becomes provocative and dangerous.”
The eight-part series is also slated to feature the return of Sophie Rundle, best known for her work in Peaky Blinders, as Lister’s wife Ann Walker. Gemma Whelan of Game of Thrones fame, will also be appearing as Marian Lister, and Lydia Leonard as Mariana Lawton.
BAFTA winner Joanna Scanlan will also make her highly anticipated debut as Anne Lister’s outrageous former lover Isabella ‘Tib’ Norcliffe.
Gentleman Jack 2 will arrive on BBC One and BBC iPlayer at 9pm on April 10th.
