The Detective Conan: Kurogane no Submarine movie is continuing to rake in cash at the Japanese box office, with the 26th Detective Conan anime film now having a total gross of 5.8 billion yen (~US$43.3 million), according to Kogyo Tsushin.

In terms of its second weekend performance, Detective Conan: Kurogane no Submarine remained in the top spot of the weekend chart with a moviegoer count of 1.113 million and a gross of 1,615 billion yen (~US$12.05 million). Its opening weekend moviegoer numbers and gross were 2.176 million and 3.146 billion yen (~US$23.48 million), respectively.

Aside from Detective Conan: Kurogane no Submarine, other anime movies on the weekend chart include The First Slam Dunk in third place, Doraemon: Nobita’s Sky Utopia in fourth place, and Gridman Universe in ninth place. The First Slam Dunk has made 13.2 billion yen (~US$98.56 million) in total since its December 2022 debut, making it the 24th top-grossing movie in the country. Meanwhile, Doraemon: Nobita’s Sky Utopia has earned 4.08 billion yen (~US$30.48 million) since premiering on March 3.

For manga/light novel/anime-related live-action films, Tokyo Revengers 2: Bloody Halloween Arc ~Destiny~ was the top performer of the weekend chart with a 2nd place ranking. The movie, an adaptation of the manga by Ken Wakui (which has inspired a multi-season anime adaptation), premiered on April 21 and drew in 428 thousand viewers for its debut weekend. Its opening weekend gross was 583 million yen (~US$4.35 million).

Elsewhere on the weekend chart, My Happy Marriage, an adaptation of Akumi Agitogi‘s light novel series (an anime adaptation is coming to Netflix), took seventh place while Touken Ranbu -Reimei- the Movie took the 10th spot. My Happy Marriage premiered on March 17 while Touken Ranbu -Reimei- the Movie premiered on March 31.
