Talk about a new acting vehicle!

Brie Larson, the Oscar-winning actress and interstellar component of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, will join the Fast and Furious franchise, according to the property’s chief driver Vin Diesel. The actor and producer made the announcement via Instagram late Saturday night.

His caption read: “Yeah yeah yeah… you see this angel over my shoulder cracking me up, you say to your self ‘that’s captain Marvel’ Clearly there is love and laughter in this image. What you don’t see however, is the character you will be introduced to in Fast10. You have no idea how timeless and amazing she will be in our mythology. Beyond her beauty, her intellect… her Oscar, haha is this profound soul who will add something you might not have expected but yearned for.
Welcome to the FAMILY Brie.”

The upcoming movie, which Variety calls Fast and Furious 10 (the official title may change before release, or at least get an ampersand), is, of course, the 11th feature film in the franchise. We would sooner inject liquid NO2 into our veins than disrespect Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw. Justin Lin will direct the new entry, making it his sixth time behind the wheel.

Larson will join the longstanding Fast and Furious company of Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, and Sung Kang, as well as relative newcomer Charlize Theron

In addition to Larson, Daniela Melchior and Jason Momoa will make their debuts in the series with this newest film.
