LONDON: Hollywood actor and model Simon Rex has claimed that a British tabloid offered him $ 70,000 for saying that he had slept with Meghan Markle, a member of the British royal family and Prince Harry’s wife. The actor said he turned down the tabloid’s offer which came at a time when he was in a financial crisis.

Simon said though he was broke at the time he could never accept such an offer. In 2005, Simon and Meghan starred together in a TV show. The actor said that Meghan later found out that the tabloid had made him such an offer and thanked him for refusing it. In her letter to Simon, Markle wrote that it’s nice to know there are still good people.

Simon said that he and Meghan were good friends and that even pictures of them eating together spread on social media while starring in a TV series. This is not the first time Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have had a strained relationship with British tabloids for some time now. Both have filed several cases against such media in the past.
