BBC EastEnders’ hunk Joey Branning actor David Witts starts completely new career 10 years after quitting soap for Hollywood
Former EastEnders actor David Witts, who played hunk Joey Branning, has a new career since leaving the soap for Hollywood – but it isn’t what you might think. The 30-year-old recently snagged a new job with drama school Act4tv, which offers acting classes and online courses- reports The Sun.
The beloved actor has taken time out from his work in America to travel back to the UK- which the school announced on their Facebook page. They said: “NEW TUTOR ALERT!! DAVID WITTS – MONDAYS MCR! Since being a regular in EastEnders, David has been over in LA working on some major projects.”
Adding: “He’s now back in the UK and taking over our Monday nights at Act4tv. David has a unique teaching style and can’t wait to share his knowledge with the pro actors of Manchester. His classes go live on the website on Monday the 28th, don’t miss out, keep your skills sharp, come and join the family.”

During his time on the BBC soap, between 2012 and 2013, his character stirred up drama on Albert Square that left fans wanting more. Joey most remembered storylines included dating Ian Beale’s daughter Lucy, who he later dumped to enter a relationship with his cousin Lauren Branning.
Joey also dealt with the huge aftermath of his sister Alice getting involved with Michael Moon after he was killed by his wife Janine Butcher. Not long after, Joey left Walford to live with his mum, after finding out Alice plead guilty to murder.
Having no reason to stay, Joey then asked his girlfriend Lauren to come with him, admitting that he still loves her, however, she ultimately decided to stay.
