Celebrity medium Tyler Henry buys ‘modern cabin’ in Topanga
Celebrity clairvoyant Tyler Henry, who’s known for his shows Hollywood Medium and Life After Death, has used some of his ample earnings from his impressive career to fly the coop and set up his own nest in Topanga, California.
This is Henry’s first home, According to Dirt, an off-the-grid retreat that he paid the exact asking price of $US 2.1 million ($2.8 million) for in the hip and trendy community.
Henry’s secluded escape is set behind gates on almost an acre, surrounded by lush vegetation. The serene site sounds charming, boasting its very own fruit orchard “with mature lemons, plums, pomegranates, persimmons, nectarines and more”.
Described as a “modern cabin” you’ll find features such as wide plank oak flooring, a wood burning fireplace, clerestory windows and beamed ceilings, while at the same time enjoying water filtration and softening systems, Nest controls, Ring cameras, fibre internet, smartphone controlled gates and locks, and smart exterior lighting.
One feature that no doubt played a large role in Henry purchasing the four-bed, two-bath pad – besides its decidedly retreat-like nature – is the home’s newly built guest cottage.
We imagine Stella, his mother, might make herself at home in the space, which boasts high ceilings and its own hardwood floating decks and wooded outlook. Read more here.
Ciara and Russell Wilson drop $33.5 million on Colorado mansion
Just one week after news broke that singer-songwriter Ciara and her Professional NFL player husband Russell Wilson listed their Washington estate for $36 million ($48.3 million), the couple is making property headlines once again.
This time, however, it’s for dropping a substantial USD $25 million ($33.5 million) on a staggering mansion in Denver, Colorado, which is unsurprising given Wilson has been traded to Denver’s NFL team, The Broncos.
The exxy sale price is said to have broken the record for the most expensive house sold in the Denver area, according to The Denver Post.
Situated in affluent Cherry Hills Village, the stunning mansion is spread over a sizeable 21,610-square-metres of verdant, blue chip land.
Much like their home in Washington, the couple’s newly acquired abode is positively palatial, featuring four bedrooms and 12 bathrooms. However, the overall internal space of their new house is substantially larger than their Washington digs, almost double the interior size.
There’s an expansive professional kitchen with custom cabinetry, laudable master suite, plush home theatre, and two charming formal dining rooms.
Being the home of a professional athlete, there are also amenities for the sporting inclined, including an indoor lap pool and spa, a gym and yoga studio and even a full-sized indoor basketball court.
Outside, the manicured grounds and arresting alfresco area bequeath occupants with rapturous, sweeping views of snow-capped mountain ranges. Read more here.
Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn’s son Wyatt sells ‘vibrant’ 1930s Spanish home
Wyatt Russell, son of Hollywood icons Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell, and his wife, Search Party actress Meredith Hagner, have sold their dreamy 1930s Spanish bungalow in LA’s Studio City.
After listing in March for $US 2,395,000 ($3.2 million), the beautiful digs were on the market for less than a month and went for almost half a million US dollars over asking, or $AU 641,000 with Russell nabbing a nip under $US 2,869,650 ($3.88 million).
But even without the added star power, it’s not hard to see why this home was snapped up. Bursting with personality and charm, the 1937-built residence is a relaxed, earthy, creative haven.
Described as “soulful and vibrant” in the listing, the three-bed, 2.5-bath spread sits on a 911sqm lot and is rendered in a gorgeous terracotta pink.
Walk up the stairs and through the gate and you’ll find a picturesque courtyard complete with lush landscaping, a hacienda-style patio and veggie garden.
There’s also a separate artist’s studio casita, lovely pool and spa, and a wisteria-covered outdoor dining area.
Inside, the rustic eclectic pad is “full of warmth and good vibes”.
Features include beamed ceilings, white stucco walls, multiple fireplaces (apparently a rarity in LA), a mix of terracotta floor tiles and hardwoods, colourful bathrooms with Spanish tile work and a chef’s kitchen with custom cabinetry and cosy breakfast nook.
The primary suite enjoys a vibrant ensuite bathroom with its own outdoor tub, while another full bathroom with bold tile work is found between the remaining two spacious bedrooms, located just to the left of the foyer. Read more here.
