Chris Hemsworth shares acting tips with cousin Luke Van Os before Home and Away debut
It was announced in October last year that Chris Hemsworth‘s hunky cousin Luke Van Os was joining the cast of the iconic Australian soap Home and Away.
And on Wednesday, the 25-year-old told Confidential the golden piece of advice the Thor actor gave to him after hearing he got the part.
‘Just be calm. And embrace it, know that the nerves never go away – it is becoming comfortable with the nerves as opposed to fearing them,’ Van Os recalled Chris, 38, saying to him.

He added that Chris, who also got one of his first acting gigs in Summer Bay, is showing his support from across the globe.
‘Chris is in LA but he watched my interviews on The Morning Show and Sunrise. I spoke to him right before because I was so nervous,’ Van Os told the publication.
And Chris isn’t the only Hemsworth brother who has been backing young Luke.
‘Liam and Luke have been a huge support as well… This industry is so tricky and can be so hard to navigate so to have any sort of solid advice from anyone who has been through it is such a blessing,’ he added.

Luke is related to the Hemsworths through his father Robert, who is the brother of their mother Leonie.
Luke announced in October he was joining Home and Away, the show that Chris appeared on as Kim Hyde from 2004 to 2007.
‘I’m so excited to finally announce that I will be joining the Home and Away team,’ Luke said on Instagram at the time.

‘My character Xander has a close tie with one of the Summer Bay favourites. I can’t thank the amazing cast, crew and Channel Seven for making me feel so welcomed into this long running family.
‘Thank you to my friends, family and team who have supported me over this long journey, this is where the work starts. Look out for Xander on screens in 2022.’
At the time, Chris congratulated his cousin in the comments section of his Instagram post.

‘His advice was be nice, put in the work and the work doesn’t end now, if anything this is when you need to work hard,’ Luke said of his famous cousin.
Luke added that he was grateful his cousins Chris, Liam, 31, and Luke, 41, have done well with their careers as they give him ‘insights’ into the industry.
‘It is good that they have paved the way for me because I have got all of their insights so they have been a huge help over the years. I am fortunate,’ he said.
