‘Real Housewives,’ Run DMC, Blake Shelton, Mario Lopez at Mohegan Sun

Mohegan Sun celebrated 25 years with a weekend of parties and concerts. Harry Styles performed on Oct. 21 and country star Blake Shelton played on Oct. 22 and 23 and Run DMC played the venue for the first time ever, according to a press release. TAO Asian Bistro & Lounge hosted Madison Beer and and DJ Ruckus. Celebrities on hand included Mario Lopez, stars from the “Bachelor” franchise and some of the “Real Housewives of New Jersey.”

Former “Real Housewives” star and Bond girl Denise Richards was seen filming her upcoming movie. Richards told Fox61 that the new movie will be called “The Junkyard Dogs.” According to Deadline, the family comedy is about a single mom who is getting ready for her upcoming wedding while her kids and her dog attempt to thwart thieves from robbing their home.

While making a stop at Foxwoods for his “Bigger Love” tour, John Legend stopped by the casino’s Caputo Trattoria Italian restaurant with wife and model Chrissy Teigen and kids Luna and Miles. Legend posed for a photo with the restaurant staff during his visit before stopping at the Tree House Arcade, which features classic arcade games, pinball and interactive virtual games. 



Disney movie starts filming at Bunnell High School

Filming for a new Disney movie “Chang Can Dunk,” has been taking place at Bunnell High School in Stratford. Bunnell High School will be used as a rival school in the film and Bunnell students will be used in many of the scenes. The Bunnell-Stratford marching band will also be featured in the Disney film.



Kanye West at Grace Farms

New Canaan


Rapper Kanye West was seen visiting Grace Farms in New Canaan this month. As reported by Page Six and documented in a series of Instagram posts, West was seen walking around the grounds of the 80-acre farm along with social media influencer Chris Smoove.

The Netflix film adaptation of Stephen King’s novella “Mr. Harrigan’s Phone” began filming at Lockwood Mathews Mansion and on Washington Street in Norwalk in late October. “Mr. Harrigan’s Phone,” released as part of a collection of short stories in King’s 2020 book “If It Bleeds,” is summarized as the story of a young boy who works for an elderly man and purchases that man a cellphone.

Late Italian opera singer, Sergio Franchi, Stonington home was listed for $12.6 million located on 91 Sergio Franchi Drive. Following his death, wife Eva Franchi hosted annual concerts in his honor at the Stonington property. According to the Sergio Franchi Music Foundation, the concerts raised money to fund over 800 grants and scholarships given to young musicians in Franchi’s honor.

Hallmark Channel has begun its “Countdown to Christmas” programming, launching a schedule of new holiday movies for the 2021 season. “You, Me & The Christmas Trees,” aired on Oct. 22nd. It takes place in Connecticut on an Avon tree farm, the film stars Danica McKellar as Olivia and Benjamin Ayres as Jack, and they work together to solve a mystery illness causing the Christmas trees on Jack’s farm to die out and fall for each other in the process, according to a Hallmark press release.
