David and Victoria Beckham and other celebrities who have been robbed
The rich and famous can afford to install all the latest security measures, and yet burglaries are still more common in Hollywood than you might think. It can be even harder to ensure the safety of such high-profile targets when they travel abroad, as was the case for Kim Kardashian when she went to Paris Fashion Week in 2016.
The most recent victims of such a crime are David and Victoria Beckham. The couple was at home in their London mansion with their daughter Harper, 10, on the night of February 28 when the burglary occurred. Police reports say that their home was invaded between 22:30 and 23:30 that night and that a number of items were taken, but no one was harmed. No arrests were made at the time and the investigation is ongoing. None of the Beckhams have commented on the incident as of yet, instead focusing their public communications on the crisis in Ukraine.

Billie Joe Armstrong
One of Billie Joe Armstrong’s prized cars was recently stolen along with a bunch of band gear. “My car was STOLEN,” the Green Day frontman tweeted. “1962 Chevy II. This car is near and dear to all our hearts and has been in the GD family for over 30 years. Please send any sighting, tips or info to the Costa Mesa police. Incident # 2015,2016. Please call 714-754-5280 please re-post, & find this car!!” He added photos of the white, two-door vehicle. Law enforcement sources told TMZ that between the night of February 5 and the following morning, the suspects entered a commercial business in Costa Mesa, CA. Other than the car, the individuals also stole two electric guitars and an amp.

Kim Kardashian
More than five years after Kim Kardashian was robbed at gunpoint in her Paris hotel room, French officials took 12 people to trial for the crime. The defendants, accused of stealing nearly US$10 million worth of jewelry, are being charged with robbery with a weapon committed in an organized gang, kidnapping and forcible confinement, or criminal association. Prosecutors have not yet revealed their identities or confirmed who will be charged with what crime.

On October 3, 2016, five men gained access to Kim Kardashian’s Paris hotel room in the early hours of the morning by threatening the concierge with a gun. They held Kardashian at gunpoint and proceeded to steal millions worth of jewelry from the room. They then bound and gagged Kardashian and left her in the bathtub. She was left uninjured but severely distressed.

A source close to the reality TV star says that she was at home in her California mansion when two or three men broke in by smashing a window. They allegedly woke up Kemsley and ordered her out of bed, claiming they had weapons and threatening to kill her if she didn’t comply with their wishes. She was forced to show them where to find valuable items and they left with a reported US$1 million worth of jewelry and other goods. No one was injured and no arrests have been made yet.

Jeremy Piven recently had his LA home burglarized, and the thieves made off with over US$20,000 worth of his clothes. Law enforcement sources told TMZ that the bandits smashed a window to get inside the ‘Entourage’ star’s house while he wasn’t home. The actor’s rep said, “It’s unfortunate when high profile celebrities are a target of home robberies when traveling. Jeremy was out of town at the time doing his stand-up comedy shows in the UK.”

Jodie Turner-Smith, who attended the Cannes Film Festival for the premiere of her latest film, ‘After Yang,’ reportedly had her jewelry stolen there. The actress tweeted on July 11, “didn’t think i would be spending 2.5 hours in the police station on my final day in cannes, but here we are…” Local publication Nice-Matin claimed the missing pieces were worth, “several tens of thousands of euros,” reports Page Six. The actress was reportedly staying at a Marriott in town, but apparently there was no forced entry of her hotel room’s door.
