Disney+’s Turning Red Takes Top Spot
The Disney+ film Turning Red took the No.1 spot on both the Top 10 Streaming Programs and Top 10 Streaming Movies charts with 1.7 billion viewing minutes, according to Nielsen’s Weekly Streaming Top 10 report for the week of March 14. The coming-of-age animated film was only down 2% in viewing from the previous week. The Adam Project came in at No. 2 with 1.34 billion minutes, edging out The Last Kingdom with 1.32 billion viewing minutes.
Netflix dominated the Top 10 Streaming Original Programs chart taking up the top four spots. The Last Kingdom came in at No.1 (1.32 billion minutes), followed by the Netflix docu-series Bad Vegan: Fame. Fraud. Fugitives (609 million minutes), Inventing Anna (598 million minutes) and in fourth place Pieces of Her (583 million minutes).
Among acquired programming, the crime procedural NCIS topped the list with 735 million viewing minutes, the animated children’s series Cocomelon had 721 million minutes, and taking the No. 3 spot was the NBC series Good Girls, racking up 689 million minutes.
After Turning Red and The Adam Project, Encanto ranked No. 3 on the Top 10 Streaming Movies chart, with 827 million viewing minutes. Netflix’s A Walk Among the Tombstones (420 million minutes viewed) and Rescued By Ruby (306 million minutes viewed) round out the top five.
