Back in September 2021, shortly before she officially called it quits with fellow actor Garret Hedlund, Hollywood scion and “American Horror story” star Emma Roberts quietly sold her stylish Hollywood Colonial home in a $3.8 million off-market deal. Now records show Roberts has picked up a fresh residential start, having doled out $3.6 million to buy Minnie Driver’s secluded Hollywood Hills house.

The England-born actress acquired the 1940s structure for $2.5 million in 2014, and subsequently gave the place an extensive and eclectically fashionable makeover in collaboration with L.A. designer Peter Dunham, complete with colorful fabrics and vintage furnishings complemented by dark hardwood floors and soaring ceilings.

Nestled on an almost half-acre parcel secluded from the street behind double gates and hedges, Roberts’ newly acquired property includes a two-bedroom, 2.5 bath main house and detached one-bedroom, one-bath guest cottage, for a total of  just over 2,700 square feet of curated living space spread across a single level.

Sold fully furnished, highlights include a formal living room boasting a wood-burning fireplace, built-in bookshelves and a leaded glass bay window overlooking the greenery-encased grounds. A casual family room with French doors is perfect for indoor/outdoor entertaining, while an updated gourmet kitchen comes complete with high-end Viking appliances and a sunny breakfast nook adorned with a built-in banquette.

Elsewhere in the home is a romantic master suite sporting a large dressing room and French doors spilling out to the backyard, plus a luxe bath equipped with a shower room and soaking tub topped by a Venetian mirror; and outdoors, the oasis-like backyard holds a lagoon-style pool and spa flanked by a gazebo.

No stranger to buying and selling L.A. properties, Roberts first owned a modest bungalow above Laurel Canyon that was sold in 2016 to fellow actress Sarah Paulson. The New York native then moved to a Mediterranean villa in Los Feliz’s celeb-studded Laughlin Park gated community, which she sold in an all-cash deal in 2020 for $5.9 million. The buyer was Mexican heir Guillermo Gonzalez Guajardo, a son of prominent businessman Claudio X. Gonzalez Laporte.

As for Driver, her primary residence remains a seaside cottage in Malibu’s exclusive Paradise Cove trailer park.
