The pair popped to Tharavadu after filming their new film Nandor Fodor and The Talking Mongoose in Whitby

Hollywood stars Simon Pegg and Christopher Lloyd delighted staff at a Leeds restaurant when they popped in for a meal on Saturday night.

They visited Tharavadu, in Leeds city centre, after shooting their new film Nandor Fodor and The Talking Mongoose in Whitby. They were accompanied by some of the crew and director Adam Signal.

The dark comedy will see Simon Pegg star as an Hungarian-American investigator of the paranormal, who, amongst the backdrop of British tabloid newspaper hysteria, was called to the Isle of Man in 1935 to investigate the Irving family claims that they had discovered a talking mongoose called Gef on their farm. The film’s director is a regular visitor to the restaurant.

“They booked a table well in advance but the staff were not aware of the celebrities included in the group and were really surprised to see Simon Pegg in the restaurant,” a spokesperson from Tharavadu said. “Director Adam Signal is a regular visitor at the restaurant, and he mentioned to Simon Pegg and Christopher Lloyd that if you are in Leeds then you must try Tharavadu.”

Simon Pegg, Christopher Lloyd and Adam Signal sign plates for the team – a regular tradition when Tharavadu welcomes celeb guests. The venue’s wall of fame includes Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer, the Brownlee brothers, Virat Kohli, Anushka Sharma and David Gower among others.
