Apparently so, because Zac Efron didn’t like his character and regrets how it led to him being typecast for certain roles in the future. Speaking about the character, he said: “I step back and look at myself and I still want to kick that guy’s a** sometimes.” He added that as soon as the first movie was released, he started trying to explain that this wasn’t the type of role he wanted to play forever. The 34-year-old actor revealed: “I was, like, 17. And I said, ‘Guys, you know this is not at all what I want to do?’ And they were like, ‘Really?’”
