As he exited the Virginia courthouse, fans showered actor Johnny Depp with gifts, cards, bouquets, and even a treasure chest, according to a new video.

Johnny is currently fighting ex-wife Amber Heard in a multimillion-dollar defamation suit. Johnny is seen waving to his fans from inside the car in the video, as ecstatic fans express their love for him.

Johnny has filed a defamation suit against Amber, alleging that an article she wrote for the Washington Post in 2018 harmed his career. Amber mentioned being a domestic abuse survivor in the article, but she didn’t mention Johnny.

A planned Pirates of the Caribbean film, in which the actor was set to reprise his iconic role of Jack Sparrow, has been postponed. Mads Mikkelsen took his place in the Fantastic Beasts film series.

His case against Amber is currently on trial in Virginia, near Washington, DC. Fans frequently congregate near the courthouse gate in the hopes of catching a glimpse of Johnny and Amber.

JessVal Ortiz, a social media influencer, posted an Instagram Reel showing what happens when you live “20 minutes away from the Johnny Depp vs. Amber Heard trial.” She showed how she got to the courthouse and waited for Johnny with other fans outside.

When Johnny’s car exits, the video shows him rolling down his window to wave to the cheering fans. Fans then swarm the vehicle, showering the actor with gifts, cards, and flowers. She says in the video, “I can’t believe he’s allowed to receive all these gifts.”

When does Johnny Depp vs Amber Heard trial resume?

The Pirates of the Caribbean star is suing his ex-wife for defamation over an essay she published in The Washington Post in 2018 about domestic violence. While the actor was not named, his lawyers claim that it is clear that Heard was referring to him, which resulted in him being blacklisted in Hollywood and missing out on roles.

The trial has been broadcast live every day from Monday to Thursday, but as of May 5, it will take a week off. Judge Penney Azcarate adjourned the court until May 16.

The trial will resume at 9 a.m. ET on May 16 and run until May 27, when both sides’ closing arguments will be heard.

Judge Azcarate reminded the jury on Thursday not to read, watch, or listen to anything related to the case during the recess.

This includes avoiding television, the news, and social media, all of which have influenced public perception of the trial thus far.
