Johnny Depp testifies about alchohol and drugs consumption after videos shown in court
A video shown in court during the defamation trial between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard shows a drunk Depp smashing up cabinets at the former couple’s house in West Hollywood.
The video was filmed by Heard, who had accused her ex-husband of domestic abuse in 2018. In the footage shown by the defence, the actor acts with a violent attitude and under the influence of alcohol.
“Motherf****! Motherf*****!” Depp is heard shouting.
“What happened?” asked Heard.
“All I did was say sorry. Did something happen to you? I don’t think so. You drank this whole thing this morning? You’re smashing sh*t.”
Heard‘s lawyer, J Benjamin Rottenborn, asked Depp if he was violent, with the famous actor replying that he “was having a bad time”.
“I don’t know what with regard to, but being illegally recorded by your chosen other is quite fitting with the rest of the photographs and tape recordings,” he added.
“She tried to hide it from me and laughed and smiled at the end. That was the most interesting part.
“I did assault a couple of cabinets, but I did not touch Miss Heard.”
Depp’s strange request
Depp admitted that he was possibly drunk in the video and then a jury heard an audio of Depp asking Heard to cut him with a knife.
“Want to cut me somewhere?” asked Depp.
“Just don’t cut your skin, please don’t. Why would I do that? Please don’t cut yourself,” replied Heard.
“I need you. Cut me,” said Depp.
The court also saw a picture taken in March 2013 with a glass of whisky on a table alongside some lines of cocaine.
