The film has reportedly done good business in India too because Andhra Box Office wrote that it has raked in Rs 23.3 Cr share in Nizam alone, writing, “#RRRMovie creates ASTONISHING ALL TIME RECORD in NIZAM! 1st Day “SHARE” ₹23.3 Cr. (sic)” Revealing that it made Rs 7.7 Cr in Guntur, they added, “#RRRMovie Creates Sensational All Time Record in Guntur with ₹7.7 Cr+ Share (C&D Fixed Hires ₹3.9 Cr). (sic)” It did well in other regions too seemingly, “#RRRMovie 1st Day Tamilnadu Gross at ₹10 Cr Approx and Kerala at ₹3 Cr Approx. Good Opening! (sic)” they wrote.
RRR, which starred Alia Bhatt, Ajay Devgn, Olivia Morris and Shriya Saran in extended cameos, opened to packed houses in AP and Telangana. The film was supposedly released in UAE only in Hindi, which made it fall short of Baahubali 2. Andhra Box Office wrote, “#RRRMovie : The Logic behind this Senseless move is incomprehensible. #RRRMovie was shown only in Hindi in UAE on 1st Day. Obviously it fell way short of #Baahubali2’s ₹16 Cr Gross here. Rest of Gulf there are no premieres for Telugu! (sic)”
RRR tells the fictional story of two freedom fighters from history – Komaram Bheem and Alluri Sitaramaraju. Jr NTR played Bheem, a Gond tribal who comes to Delhi to look for a little girl the British Raj has taken away for her tattooing skills while Ram Charan played Ramaraju, a policeman working for the Raj with a troubled past. The film received great response from fans and critics alike since its release. Seeing as how the film raked in good business at the box office on day one, it remains to be seen how it’ll fare in the coming days.
With music by MM Keeravani and cinematography by Senthil, RRR released not just in Telugu but also other south-Indian languages and Hindi. It released in numerous screens across the world and expectations are high on the film touching Baahubali records.
