With JUJUTSU KAISEN 0 finally dropping out of the top 10 at the Japanese box office this week after ranking in there since December, it seems the film has finally run its course. Though, that hasn’t stopped it from climbing up the Japanese Box Office all-time charts again this week, taking over Frozen 2’s spot at 18th. Globally, the film is on the cusp of overtaking Princess Mononoke on the all-time anime charts.

In Japan, as of April 10, JUJUTSU KAISEN 0 has made 13.42 billion yen (US$117.84 million) on the back of more than 9.28 million tickets sold. The MAPPA-produced prequel to the hit anime and manga franchise has moved up to 18th on the all-time Japanese domestic charts, taking over Frozen 2’s spot and closing in on Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Armageddon and E.T., all of which made 13.5 billion yen at the Japanese box office over the years.

Internationally, JUJUTSU KAISEN 0 has brought in an estimated US$168.01 million, with North America making up US$33.14 million of that amount and keeping at 8th place –just ahead of Spider-Man: No Way Home–, Australia and New Zealand bringing in US$2,150,706 together, South Korea rising to US$4,696,042 and Taiwan upping its total to US$8,389,517. 

Crunchyroll streamed the first season of the JUJUTSU KAISEN TV anime as it aired in Japan, later releasing an English dub for the series as well. Crunchyroll released the blockbuster prequel anime film JUJUTSU KAISEN 0 in North American theaters on March 18, with other territories throughout the months of March and April.

The second season of JUJUTSU KAISEN will be premiering on Japanese TV in 2023 with MAPPA confirming that they will be returning as the anime studio in charge, though no premiere date confirmed as of yet.
