Kevin Federline: Britney Spears’ Sons Want Nothing to Do With Her!
Britney Spears has been making tabloid headlines for months now, with most of the coverage centering around her volatile relationship with her parents and siblings.
But now, another aspect of Britney’s personal life is attracting all the wrong kinds of media attention.
Spears’ ex-husband Kevin Federline did not grant an interview to a major outlet for more than a decade.
Now, however, he’s speaking out like never before, and K-Fed’s remarks about his famous ex have generated major controversy.
Perhaps the most surprising revelation of Federline’s recent interviews is his claim that Spears’ sons have not seen her in several months, despite the fact that they live just a short distance from the pop icon.
“The boys have decided they are not seeing her right now,” Federline told UK tabloid the Daily Mail.
“It’s been a few months since they’ve seen her. They made the decision not to go to her wedding.”
Federline went on to suggest that the boys made the decision as a result of “flak” they’ve received because of their mother’s risque Instagram content.
“I try to explain to them, ‘Look, maybe that’s just another way she tries to express herself.’ But that doesn’t take away from the fact of what it does to them. It’s tough,” Federline said.
“I can’t imagine how it feels to be a teenager having to go to high school,” he continued.
“They’ve had a lot of questions about it. I don’t know that I can answer all of them for them, but I just tried to explain to them that your mom needed help, you know, and the people were in play to try to make that happen, to make it better.”
For most of her adult life Britney has been under the control of a conservatorship led by her father, Jamie Spears.
After a long and messy legal battle, Brit managed to bring the conservatorship to an end, but Federline says the arrangement may have been just what she needed.
“I would absolutely welcome Jamie Spears back in the boys’ lives. Especially if that’s what the boys wanted,” Federline said.
“I don’t have any hard feelings towards Jamie Spears. People make mistakes. I feel bad for him. I feel like he’s been put through the wringer,” he said.
“When Jamie took over, things got into order. He saved her life.”
Not surprisingly, Spears was quick to clap back at Federline’s remarks.
“It saddens me to hear that my ex-husband has decided to discuss the relationship between me and my children. I gave them everything,” Spears wrote in her Instagram Story.
“As we all know, raising teenage boys is never easy for anyone. It concerns me the reason is based on my Instagram. It was LONG before Instagram,” she continued.
“One word: Hurtful… I’ll say it… My mother told me ‘you should GIVE them to their dad’ … I’m sharing this because I can!!!
“Have a good day folks!!!”
But Britney was far from finished.
She went on to explain that her conservatorship has damaged her relationship with her sons in ways that she’s just now beginning to understand.
“In addition to what I said on my story … As their step mom says ‘whatever is happening outside this home has nothing to do with his home’ … I would like to share the DOOR [door emoji] to outside is a token to the WHITE GATES I’ve been kept from for 15 years … the conservatorship has only been over for 8 months !!!!” Britney wrote in a later post.
”Being able to have cash FROM THE OUTSIDE world for the first time is EXTREMELY ENLIGHTENING [light bulb emoji] …. are we equal now ??? As in even equality ???” she continued.
“Reminder that the trauma and insults that come with fame and this business not only affect me but my children as well !!! I’m only human and I’ve done my best.”
Britney went on to argue that her Instagram content is tame compared to what some stars post.
She further explained that she is still processing the trauma of her conservatorship.
“I honestly would like to share my TWO CENTS !!!! I daringly would like for the Federline’s to watch the BIG BOOTY VIDEO [peach emoji] !!! Other artists have made much worse when their children were extremely young !!!!” she wrote.
“I needed permission just to take Tylenol !!! I should embark on doing WAAAY more than going topless on the beach like a baby !!!! I’m not surprised that just as my family did their share of interviews, they will too.
“I’m not surprised at all with their behavior and their approach to what I’ve had to deal with !!!”
Britney’s current husband, Sam Asghari, also defended her content:
“To clarify my wife has never posted a nude selfie except of her butt wich [sic] is quite modest these days. All other posts were implied nudity wich can be seen in any ad for lotion or soap,” he wrote on Instagram.
“There is not validity to his statement regarding the kids distancing themselves and it is irresponsible to make that statement publicly,” Asghari continued.
“The boys are very smart and will be 18 soon to make their own decisions and may eventually realize the ‘tough’ part was having a father who hasn’t worked much in over 15 years as a role model.
Needless to say, it sounds like this conflict is far from over.
