You know those slapstick comedy bits where someone keeps stepping on rakes?

In recent years, that has been Khloe Kardashian — but it’s just one rake, over and over, and his name is Tristan.

Khloe is expecting baby #2 and yes, Tristan is once again the father. We wish that we were surprised.

There are, at least, a couple of pieces of good news.

Reports on Khloe Kardashian’s pregnancy are mixed.

Some say that her child is due within days. Others say that the baby has just been born.

They all agree that serial cheater Tristan Thompson is the father.

This is a pregnancy via surrogate.

We all saw Khloe at her recent birthday party, looking remarkably thin.

Surrogacy is a necessity for some and a luxury for others. We all knew that Khloe was looking at surrogacy as an option.

As for the good news — well, mitigating news, anyway — Baby #2 was conceived before.

Khloe and Tristan were unwisely together at the time, reports say, and she did not yet know about Maralee Nichols.

So no, this is not a story of Khloe losing her entire mind and knowingly giving Tristan’s son Theo a younger sibling.

In fact, reports make it clear that Khloe and Tristan are no longer in a relationship.

Recently, Khloe’s social media activity made fans worry that she’s back with Tristan.

It is nothing short of a relief to hear that this is not the case. At least, not yet. (Given her history, it’s hard to rule it out)

Actually, some reports even claim that Khloe and Tristan have not really spoken since December.

Yes, they are still co-parenting True, but have reportedly not had any real contact beyond that.

It is hard to imagine conceiving a child only to, just weeks later, learn that their secret sibling was just born.

When many people first heard the baby news, they feared that Khloe had taken Tristan back again.

She has done it enough times, seemingly ignoring his cheating, that it’s easy to believe anything.

But she didn’t know in November, when Baby #2 was conceived. She likely hadn’t even heard of Maralee Nichols.

Of course, Khloe not knowing about Maralee Nichols’ pregnancy isn’t really a mitigating factor.

It makes Tristan’s betrayal worse.

One can only conclude that he knew that another child was about to be born, but went ahead on this one with Khloe.

Come to think of it, on The Kardashians when the family learned of Tristan’s newest offspring, Kylie Jenner was particularly vocal.

She asked if Tristan was “the worst person on the planet” after the revelation.

This really puts things into context: Kylie and her family were likely well aware of Khloe’s pregnancy via surrogate.

It is likely that the show did not reveal Khloe’s pregnancy for two reasons.

One, as a possible storyline for the Hulu series’ second season.

Two, because Khloe might have a lot of feelings about it and decisions to make between then and the birth.

For a few years now, Khloe has been vocal about how much she resents hearing fans’ opinions.

It is true that this is Khloe’s life. Khloe can make as many mistakes as she likes.

But she conceived a second baby with the same cheater. Fans were hoping to prevent exactly this kind of scenario.
