Mondo’s Newest Doctor Strange Soundtrack Enters the Vinyl Multiverse • The Pop Insider
Mondo is entering the multiverse — sonically.
In collaboration with Hollywood Records and Marvel Music, the company is continuing its Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) soundtrack series with the premiere vinyl pressing of Danny Elfman’s score to Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Composer Danny Elfman and director Sam Raimi are long-time collaborators, starting with Darkman in the ’90s and more recently on the original Spider-Man trilogy in the early ’00s. This second Doctor Strange movie marks the first time the two have teamed up in almost a decade.
The record features new artwork by Florian Bertmer, which pictures Doctor Strange sitting criss-cross on an orange and red, mandala-inspired background, hands out in a pose that will look familiar to those who have seen the movie. He wears the Eye of Agamotto and his usual Doctor Strange outfit.
The vinyl itself is pressed on 180 Gram, Mondo webstore-exclusive color vinyl. The two LPs feature a black and red tie-dye effect that is sure to thrill any record collector. The score will also be available on black vinyl, in case you don’t want the colored option.
The Marvel Studios’ Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness score will be available to preorder for $40 at mondoshop.com starting tomorrow, May 11 at noon CT. If you can’t wait until then to hear the soundtrack, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is currently playing in theaters nationwide.
