Nick Lachey admits to ‘overreacting,’ but not being violent with female paparazzo
Nick Lachey is hitting back at reports about him getting physical with a member of the paparazzi.
The pop music crooner and TV host was allegedly caught on camera getting into an altercation with an alleged photographer.
In the footage, posted by TMZ on Monday, Lachey seemingly reached inside a blue car and tried to playfully snatch something from the driver.
The unidentified woman, who recorded the interaction, put her window down and asked about his behavior toward her, explaining that she was just trying to shoot celebrities.
He asked her if paparazzi was still a thing. After making him aware she smelled the alcohol on his breath, he walked away and stuck his tongue out.
Sometimes afterward, the 98 Degrees singer was seen giving the middle finger to other photographers as he walked to a Beverly Hills hotel with his wife, Vanessa Lachey, and another female friend.
Hours after the clips of the interaction circulated online, the 48-year-old father of three admitted that he “overreacted.”
“Last night, after enjoying a great dinner with my wife and our dear friend, the paparazzi harassed us as we walked back to our hotel,” he wrote on Twitter. “I clearly overreacted. I’ve been in this game long enough to know that their antics are sadly part of the deal. Stupid of me. Done.”
Never acknowledging what transpired during the earlier interaction, he went on to name-check the celebrity gossip site for perpetuating lies about what transpired.
“For TMZ or anyone else to say that I was violent or that I ‘got physical’ with someone is reckless and absolutely false,” Lachey wrote. “Once again, TMZ likes to create their own clickbait narrative. Life’s too short, we move on.”
