An old Instagram Live video from Jada Pinkett Smith’s account has resurfaced and gone viral in the wake of Will’s Oscars “slapgate” moment.

The video, posted to Reddit, shows a tense exchange between the couple after Jada begins filming Will without asking him first.

Filmed in 2019, the 49-second clip shows Will saying to Jada: “Don’t use me” as she begins videoing him for her Insta Live.

Reddit users said Will clearly looked tense and uncomfortable in the video, which Jada created to help promote her Red Table Talk show.

“You know (therapist) Esther Perel is coming to the table,” Jada says, before turning the camera on her husband.

“Would you say she has been instrumental in you and I redefining our relationship?”

Will doesn’t look too happy to have been put on the spot.

“I would say don’t just start filming me without asking me,” he responds.

Jada seems to ignore Will’s request, saying she is “still dealing with foolishness” and continuing to film.

“Would you say that (Perel) helped us heal the hurts that we have caused between one another?” she persists.

Will responds: “My social media presence is my bread and butter … So you can’t just use me for social media.”

“Don’t just start rolling,” he adds.

“I’m standing in my house. Don’t start rolling.”

Rumours about the state of the A-list couple’s relationship have been circulating ever since Will walked onstage at the Oscars and slapped Chris Rock after the comedian made a joke about Jada’s shaved head.

While Will initially appeared to laugh at the joke, he then noticed Jada rolling her eyes – her shaved head is due to alopecia – and was spurred into action.

In recent days, details about Jada’s extramarital affair with singer August Alsina have emerged, with the 29-year-old R&B star even releasing a new song that appears to allude to their romantic relationship.

Will and Jada’s apparently open relationship has been the subject of much gossip over the years.

At this year’s BAFTAs, Rebel Wilson made a joke about it, saying: “Will Smith winning for King Richard but personally I thought his best performance over the past year was being OK with all his wife’s boyfriends!”

One of this year’s Oscars hosts, Regina Hall, also joked about it, well before the Chris Rock incident.

Calling handsome, single men to the stage, Regina asked for Timothee Chalamet, Bradley Cooper and others to join her.

Then she quipped: “Will Smith… you’re married but you know what, you’re on the list and it looks like Jada approved you, so get on up here. Get on up here!”

‘Disrespectful’

On Reddit, users had a variety of reactions to the resurfaced 2019 video, but most agreed that Will looked genuinely peeved and Jada was being “disrespectful”.

“He looks so uncomfortable,” one person observed.

“He looks hella anxious, like he knows Jada is going to provoke him and he’s afraid of how it will go down,” another said.

“It’s like annoying people who want to take your picture and you keep saying no and then they whine and harass you about it,” a third wrote.

“No means no.”

One person said they thought Will looked “tormented.”

“I’ve gone from liking him to disliking him to feeling sorry for him in the space of a week,” they wrote.

“He looks broken. I’m back and forth on the slap thing but damn,” said another.
