When the history of box office collection will be written, it will be known as the Pre Kalki 2898 AD and Post Kalki 2898 AD way. Ever since the release of the film, the film has been setting new records, not only in India, but also in North America, which has become one of the biggest markets for Telugu films, given that Telugu has now become the 11th most spoken language in the country.


Nag Ashwin’s Kalki 2898 AD entered the top 10 list of Highest grossing Indian film in North America ( USA and Canada) in the very first week, and since then, has slowly and steadily been climbing the rankings. Last week the film stood on the third spot after displacing Shah Rukh Khan‘s Jawan, and only behind Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan ( US $ 17.45 million ) and SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali 2- The Conclusion ( US $ 20.77 million).

But the time has come for the rankings to change, at the end of 16th day, Kalki 2898 AD earned about US $ $17.15million, and on Saturday, it added another US $ 311,000 till early evening, and the number is expected to rise by the end of the day. Thus, the total collection of the film till now stands at US $ 17.46 million just nudging Pathaan for the second spot.


Now the battle starts for 1st spot, which has been held by SS Rajamouli, Prabhas and Rana Daggubati’s Baahubali 2- The Conclusion for nearly 7 years.
