Redding Cal Vet facility recognized for five-star rating
REDDING, Calif. — It’s no secret that the Northstate loves veterans, and a five-star rating at the Redding Cal Vet facility shows it.
The Governor’s office shared congratulations as all six Cal Vet homes are five-star rated, including the Redding home.
Administrator Jessica Koppes said they have been a five-star home for years. She said all six homes ranked five stars means they are in the top 10% in the nation.
“We’re celebrating together,” Koppes said. “It’s an amazing accomplishment for each of our six skilled nursing facilities.”
Over the past few years, they have dealt with challenges like the pandemic and staffing shortages, but Koppes said their dedicated staff has always served their veterans.
“I couldn’t be prouder of my staff,” Koppes said. “Really when you have a workforce in general that has reduced in numbers based on what has happened with the nation. The folks that are still here in this building have been here since the beginning. They do double shifts, they’re not leaving in the event of an emergency saying ‘I need to stay here and care for my veterans. That’s the staff that we have. Those are our five-start staff.”
The veterans home will be hosting a job fair on April 21 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. So if you want to serve our nation’s finest be sure to check it out.
