As the world resumes its return-to-office life, Sandra Bullock has opted to take a break from her nine-to-five. While promoting the upcoming adventure film, The Lost City, she’s shared her plans to take an acting hiatus. That makes The Lost City one of the last two projects on Bullock’s dance card, at least for the foreseeable future.

“I can be creative, I can be part of a community,” Bullock recently explained to CBS Sunday Morning correspondent Tracy Smith. “But right now, work in front of the camera needs to take a pause.” The Oscar winner said she’s not sure how long her break will last. “Until I don’t feel like I feel now when I’m in front of a camera,” she added.

When asked about that feeling, Bullock cited a need to spend time with her two children—Louis and Laila. “I want to be at home,” she said. “I’m not doing anyone any favors who’s investing in a project if I’m saying, ‘I just want to be at home.’ ‘Cause I was always running, I was always running to the next thing. I just want to be present and responsible for one thing.”

Bullock’s sentiments echo comments she made earlier this week to Entertainment Tonight. There, too, she said she plans to step back from on-camera work. “I take my job very seriously when I’m at work,” she told the outlet, referring to her career as a “24/7” commitment. “And I just want to be 24/7 with my babies and my family. That’s where I’m gonna be for a while.” Bullock’s immediate future will center on her children, “servicing their every need, their social calendar,” she said.

Before Bullock bids a (temporary) farewell to Hollywood, she’ll also co-star alongside Brad Pitt and Zazie Beetz in this summer’s action blockbuster, Bullet Train.
