The Chase fans convinced Hollywood actor is contestant on ITV show
THE CHASE fans were left open-mouthed as they spot Hollywood star Colin Farrell’s doppelganger on the ITV game show.
Host Bradley Walsh, 61, welcomed four more hopefuls to the show including Phil, 31, a client director from Liverpool.
But the bearded contestant immediately caught Bradley’s eye, who was left stunned at his striking resemblance to the Phone Booth actor, 46.
Bradley introduced the contestant to the show and asked him what he liked to do in his spare time.
“I like to watch films, either going to the cinema or at home,” Phil said.
Bradley asked: “New films or old films?”
The player said he loved all films, with Bradley responding: “You should go into films yourself, you’re the spitting image of Colin Farrell.”
A surprised Phil happily took the compliment, saying: “He’s not a bad looking fella.”
The presenter added: “Has no one ever said that to you that before?”
But Phil admitted that he’d not heard that one before, with Bradley turning to the other contestants and said: “He looks just like Colin Farrell.”
Viewers also raced to Twitter to point out the uncanny similarities.
One wrote: “This contestant looks just like Colin Farrell – Bradley’s right! #TheChase”
Another posted: “Scouse Colin Farrell currently the most handsome contestant tonight. #TheChase”
A third added: “The first contestant is definitely giving me Colin Farrell vibes. #TheChase”
Phil answered eight questions correctly in the cashbuilder round and went head-to-head with Shaun Wallace in the first round.
Luckily he managed to outsmart the Chaser make it back to the final round with £8k.
Phil was joined by Helen, 65, a retired Chaplin from Bedford, Jamie, 21, a maths student from Edinburgh and Victoria, 51, an accountant from Warwick in the final chase with a prize pot of £21k.
The team managed to get a respectable 18 in the final round, leaving Shaun with his work cut out.
The team managed to execute two pushbacks out of a possible four and beat the Chaser with seconds to spare.
The team walked away with a total of £5,250 each.
Phil said he was using his cash winnings for a trip to Las Vegas.
