The Kardashians are coming back to reality TV, this time on Hulu
We all thought that the Kardashians’ reality TV career was over when the last episode of their 20-season series “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” aired last June, but like Tom Brady, they’ve come out of retirement for a comeback with Hulu.
While we never thought we’d see the Kardashians working with Hulu and Disney (it’s not just us; Kim Kardashian told The Hollywood Reporter the same), it seems like the offer was too good to pass up.
“I think once we announced that we were going to be stopping our show, just different offers came in from different streaming services, and that was really intriguing to us and just seemed different,” Kim Kardashian said at last week’s premiere. “We wanted to do something different, but right away we were like, ‘We miss this. Who were we kidding, we should be doing this.’ We got a year off from filming, and I think that was really beneficial for our souls just to really soak it up. But the filming this time is different, and I just love it.”
The new series began filming last fall, and as anyone following the Kardashian family news since then knows, there’s been a lot going on since then. Kim and Kanye West’s divorce, then Kim’s subsequent relationship with Pete Davidson — plus all the fallout drama after that.
The series isn’t just about Kim, there’s also Khloé Kardashian and Tristan Thompson’s relationship that the show will capture, plus Kylie Jenner’s second pregnancy, and Kourtney Kardashian’s whole thing with Travis Barker, from falling in love to getting sort-of married at an Elvis-officiated ceremony in Las Vegas (they didn’t quite have the paperwork on hand). And yes, Kourtney is back after not wanting to do more reality TV, but it wouldn’t be the Kardashians with all six women (including matriarch Kris Jenner and 2nd youngest Kendall Jenner) front and center. The new series will also feature appearances from Jonathan Cheban, Malika Haqq, Barker, and Davidson.
There’s currently no limit to the number of seasons they’ll debut on Hulu, but you’ll be able to tune in starting this Thursday, April 14, on Hulu — so get your fake eyelashes on and your popcorn out, because the family is back on the small screen.
