With so many different streaming platforms and cable offerings to navigate, choosing what to watch has never been harder. To make things easier, here are our best tune-in tips for the week ahead.

TUESDAY

This Is Us

It’s the 100th episode of “This Is Us” and there are only seven episodes left until the end of what many consider to be the best prime-time drama currently on TV. After what was already one of the most stressful episodes of the series last week, this episode, titled “Katoby,” will likely be the end of “Katoby” as we know it. Regardless of whose side you are on in the Kate versus Toby saga, the performances delivered by Chrissy Metz and Chris Sullivan have been spectacular this season. As they say, however, all good things must come to an end, which is the case for the couple and the show.

WEDNESDAY

Our Great National Parks

While this five-part docuseries focuses on U.S. parks to visit, it’s notable mainly because of its narrator. The guide on this adventure is former U.S. president Barack Obama, who invites viewers to celebrate America’s greatest national parks and wild spaces. With COVID-19 restrictions loosening, some might be up for a quick trip across the border.

The Kardashians

Just a year after announcing the end of “Keeping Up With the Kardashians,” reality television’s most famous family is back with a rebranding of the same shtick. “The Kardashians” delves into the life of each member of the family. Storylines we can expect to see explored include Khloe’s relationship with Tristan Thompson, Kourtney’s engagement to Travis Barker, Kylie having a second child with Travis Scott and … Kim’s divorce from Kanye. If you know, then you know. That said, I never thought I would be typing “The Kardashians” and Disney in the same sentence.

Cecilia

This Paramount Plus original is an eight-episode dramedy that tells the story of a woman (played by Mariana Trevino) who has transformed her parents’ bakery into a new business. When Cecilia suffers a stroke, she is forced to rely on a family that has (until this point) been completely reliant on her.

FRIDAY

Choose or Die

A new thriller that has been described as “Squid Game” meets “Alice in Borderland” is one of my picks of the week. The horror feature tells the story of Isaac (Asa Butterfield of “Sex Education”) and Kayla (Iola Evans) who find a retro video game that promises to reward them with $125,000 if they beat it. When they decide to play, they quickly realize they must deal with dire consequences that could cost them their lives. To make things even cooler, it’s teased that Robert Englund of “Nightmare on Elm Street” will star in the series as himself. A must-see.

Outer Range

This Amazon original is described as a Western family saga with a hint of humour and supernatural mystery. The series is about two families, the Abbotts and the Tillersons, and while the premise of one trying to take land from the other has been done to death (“Yellowstone” anyone?), there are some new elements to this story. The Abbott family is still trying to figure out the mysterious disappearance of their daughter-in-law, Rebecca. That’s in addition to a strange black void that arrives in their family field (an ode to the smoke monster in “Lost” perhaps). There is enough here to warrant watching the first episode at the very least.

Anatomy of a Scandal

Some of Hollywood’s heavy hitters are involved in this miniseries. It was developed by David E. Kelley (“Ally McBeal,” “Big Little Lies”) and stars Sienna Miller as Sophie Whitehouse, a woman who witnessing the slow disintegration of her marriage. Sienna learns that her husband James (Rupert Friend) has cheated on her. The fact that he is a politician doesn’t help. It also doesn’t help that the storyline is similar to what its star went through in real life. Miller went through her own scandal in 2005 when she broke off her engagement to Jude Law after he admitted to having an affair with his children’s nanny.

SUNDAY

The First Lady

My second pick of the week, and one that will undoubtedly earn more universal interest, is Showtime’s “The First Lady.” The anthology series reframes what American leadership looks like by homing in on the first lady’s perspective. The show features what might be the best ensemble cast in the last few years as Viola Davis plays Michelle Obama, Michelle Pfeiffer is cast as Betty Ford and Gillian Anderson has the role of Eleanor Roosevelt. Did I mention that Kiefer Sutherland plays her husband, President Theodore Roosevelt?
