Teen Vogue’s New Hollywood Class of 2022 honors the actors, artists, directors, and young celebrities changing how we think about the world and our place in it. These eight creators — Caleb McLaughlin, Sydney Sweeney, Xolo Maridueña, Patti Harrison, Karena Evans, Devery Jacobs, Morgan Cooper, and Nik Dodani — are daring to think about Hollywood differently, challenging the old ways at every turn. It takes guts to reimagine an entrenched system, and they have them in abundance.

In the past, our Young Hollywood franchise has highlighted some of the most exciting up-and-coming actors in entertainment. Years before they became household names, we gave a platform to people like Zendaya, Jennifer Lawrence, Keke Palmer, Hayley Kiyoko, Timotheé Chalamet, Elle Fanning, and more. This year, we’ve shifted our focus to encompass more of the people involved in making our favorite movies and shows: the actors, yes, but also the writers, directors, and exciting comedic voices. New Hollywood is about imagining a new kind of Hollywood. It’s about celebrating the people working for positive change in the industry — less about age, more about impact.
