Channel 4’s award-winning behemoth is back for a brand-new run as Greg Davies’s golden noggin will be won by the comic who proves their mettle over 10 episodes.

Miriam O’Callaghan and Fran McNulty present a special edition on climate change, with reports on switching to electric cars and living a low-carbon lifestyle.

They hear from experts, politicians and ordinary people as they examine whether Ireland can meet its ambitious carbon reduction targets.

Meanwhile, architect-cum-TV star Dermot Bannon takes viewers through the changes needed when it comes to future living.

The Remains of the Day, 9.00pm, BBC Four

Here’s one of the great period dramas, from the Merchant Ivory stable, starring the likes of Anthony Hopkins, Emma Thompson and James Fox.

A butler in a 1930s’ aristocratic household has dedicated himself to his master, putting duty above all else and repressing his affection for the housekeeper, who also happens to be in love with him.

On the outbreak of World War II, the nobleman’s Nazi sympathies come to light, marking a change of heart in the old servant, who looks back with misgivings about the loyalty that may have cost him dearly.

Ireland’s Young Filmmaker of the Year, 7.00pm, RTÉ2

The hugely popular competition for young budding filmmakers between the ages of seven and 18-years-old returns in its 26th year.

Presenters Gemma Bradley and Stephen Byrne (above) – no relation, but he’s a good lad – share behind-the-scenes interviews, winning films and acceptance speeches.

An Fód Deireanach, 8.00pm, TG4

I was off on holliers last week and missed the opening episode of this new series where Manchán Magan explores our complex relationship with the peatlands of Ireland.

Ireland is quite simply a global bog superpower, with the third-largest amount of surviving peatland on the planet.

The bog is part of our culture and heritage – but these biodiverse habitats are now under threat. In this episode, Manchán looks at the ecological importance of our peatlands.

With Eanna Ní Lamhna, he learns that there’s more to the bog than just turf, observing carnivores plants within a fragile ecosystem.

He also explores the healing properties of the bog, sampling a popular tonic for the Celtic curse, hemochromatosis.

Things are getting so tight, it’s even affecting the wealthy. So here’s a new series that shows how to enjoy a luxury home and garden makeover as prices soar.

No Roses on a Sailor’s Grave, 7.50pm, PBS America

Many decades after Royal Navy veteran Patrick Thomas’ ship vanished during World War II, he is the last of the handful of survivors still living.

Fate then brings Patrick and archaeologist John Henry Phillips – a complete stranger – together.

Fuelled by their unexpected bond and the rapid passing of the Second World War generation, John makes a shocking promise to find the ship and build a memorial with Patrick by his side.

The Kardashians, Disney+

They haven’t gone away, you know. They’ve just stepped into the future.

Just one year after Keeping Up with the Kardashians finished its 20-season run on E!, the inexplicably famous family announced they aren’t quite done with reality television yet.

And streaming’s where it’s at, with Disney gradually closing in on pole position.

The Kardashians is being described as “an all-access pass” into the lives of each member of the Kardashian family. So fans will know exactly what to expect. More of the same.

Each woman runs their own business empires while still navigating their complicated love lives, making for a show that’s obviously dramatic and entertaining for some.

Kris Jenner and her daughters Kim, Khloe and Kourtney Kardashian will all be featured in The Kardashians along with the twins, Kylie Jenner and Kendall Jenner.

First Dates Ireland, 9.30pm, RTÉ2

A special episode of the show looking back at some of the most memorable dates Mateo welcomed to the restaurant closes this year’s collection of first dates.

They include Gabriella from Transylvania’s date with shy oil rig worker Graham, and Laura and Aimee’s double date with Ryan and Luke.

Contractors, 9.30pm, TG4

In the final episode one season is coming to an end while another is getting geared up to begin.

The cows are moving indoors again while Eoin and Mary Kate get married.

Peadar has bought a ram to provide new lambs in the spring. It’s tree and hedge cutting season and the Farrellys and Thomas are flat out.

It’s time to review how the season went, how it could improve and if new kit is needed as the new one is just around the door.
