The fact a room full of Hollywood celebrities still applauded Will Smith after he assaulted Chris Rock for telling a joke shows these people are “hypocrites” and should not preach morality to anyone, says Sky News Digital Editor Jack Houghton.

Mr Houghton said the “biggest story of the week” was the moment Will Smith, an “emotionally stunted man baby,” marched onto the stage at the Oscars to slap the stand-up comedian.

Rock had made a gag about the appearance of Mr Smith’s wife.

Mr Houghton said no matter how bad a joke is, people “shouldn’t be slapped” for telling them.

“The Oscars, you have to remember, is the night the world’s most self-righteous, hypocritical celebrities celebrate themselves while often throwing in a jab or suggestion about how us normal folk should be living our lives,” Mr Houghton said.

“And the progressive media loves it – it gives them faces to promote their causes.

“So, in all of this room, all of these celebrities witnessed a man walk up to someone and assault them and minutes later they gave him a standing ovation for winning an award.

“These people should not preach morality to anyone. They are hypocrites, not philosophers.”
